David Legwand #11 Of The Nashville Predators Celebrates

Sergei Kostitsyn, Patric Hornqvist, Martin Erat, Nick Spaling and David Legwand have all missed games.

Legwand says it is frustrating not being able to play. “Every time you sit out, it is not fun. The guys are playing well right now and getting wins so that is all that really matters.”

Tied with rookie Craig Smith for the lead in points on the Predators, Legwand has been out of the lineup since the first period against the Los Angeles Kings on November 8th.

“I feel good,” Legwand said after practice on Friday morning, adding “I’ve been skating for a week. I’m just trying to stay in shape and hang around the guys.”

Legwand sustained an upper-body injury on a hit by Kings captain Dustin Brown almost two weeks ago, but still leads the team in points and has 5 goals and 9 assists in 14 games. Smith has 7 goals and 7 assists.

“Hopefully, I get a chance to get back in the lineup and play Saturday night,” Legwand said when asked if there was a chance that he would return to the ice for Saturday night’s home game at Bridgestone Arena.

Predators Head Coach Barry Trotz confirms there is a possibility Legwand will return to the lineup on Saturday. “Yes, there is a pretty good chance,” Legwand will play Trotz said.

If Legwand is in the lineup, the Predators will field a full roster of healthy forwards for the first time this season.
