The Blues had six power play opportunities. Nashville didn’t have time with the man advantage, though Matt D’Agostini was assessed a charging penalty at the 5:00 minute mark of overtime.

Predators forward Martin Erat says the Predators need more opportunities to put the League’s fifth best power play on display. “That doesn’t help when we don’t get any power plays. We only had one against Detroit. We didn’t have one at all today.  Maybe we need to play better in front of the net and create some turnovers and make them take some penalties on us.”

Nashville’s power play has a 21.3 percent success rate.

It was a scoreless game until 12:32 of the third period when Erat gave the Predators a 1-0 lead.

“It was after the penalty kill. [Mike] Fisher and I were tired but I saw the guy backing up and he was a forward,” Erat said when talking about his goal, adding, “I just tried to go to the net and Weber made a great pass across. I put it in the empty net. I think the goalie didn’t see me coming from the side. Weber made a great fake on the play and gave it to me across and it was an easy play to put in the net.”

It was Erat’s 6th goal of the campaign.

The Blues tied the game at 16:08 of the final frame when T.J. Oshie scored his 10th goal of the season.
Wilson was in the penalty box serving a bench minor for too many men on the ice.

After no one scored in the overtime period, David Legwand recorded the only goal of the shootout to secure the win for Nashville. Pekka Rinne was named first star of the game after making 39
saves.

Nashville only had 20 shots on goal. “It was kind of a slow game. We played slow for the first two periods, but we managed to get two points. That’s what’s important,” Erat said.

The Predators now take their five-game winning streak on the road to Washington to play the Capitals on Tuesday night.
